Acne is an annoying but common skin condition. Acne is most common on the face, shoulders or back. This skin condition is caused by excessive production of sebum by the sebaceous gland of the hair follicle. When excessive production of sebum occurs, dead skin cells accumulate. This clogs the hair follicles and causes blackheads, inflammation or redness. Acne can develop at a young age as well as at an older age. Fortunately, there are many wonderful treatments for this in the practice. Every skin is unique, which is why we don’t have a standard acne plan. Your plan is personally created by your skin specialist or skin therapist.
