HydraFacial in Rotterdam
A HydraFacial is a facial treatment in which a single handpiece cleanses, loosens the top layer of skin, empties pores and delivers active ingredients, all at once. At Diba Clinics on the Weissenbruchlaan in Rotterdam the treatment takes 60 minutes, costs 170 to 220 euros and has no recovery time.

What a HydraFacial
does to your skin
It starts not with the device but with what is going on in your skin, because that decides whether this treatment does anything about it.
Your skin constantly makes new cells and lets the old ones go at the surface. That letting go does not happen equally smoothly in everyone. If those cells stay too long, they gather in your pores along with sebum and traces of make-up. That is what you see when your skin looks dull and your pores look larger than they are: there is something in them, and the light no longer reflects off a smooth layer but off an uneven one.
A HydraFacial takes that away, and does it in one movement. Inside the handpiece is a spiral channel under suction with fluid running through it. Together the two make a swirling motion across your skin. The fluid loosens the bond between the outermost cells, the suction pulls them out along with whatever was in the pore, and through the same channel, in the same pass, a serum goes in.
The treatment stays at the surface, in the horny layer and the upper epidermis. That is exactly why you see the result straight away and notice nothing else: nothing is damaged that has to heal afterwards. It is also why the effect is temporary. Your horny layer renews itself, so what you remove now builds up again in the weeks that follow.
How the tip is built and why the tips differ is on the page about the HydraFacial Syndeo. The treatment itself, apart from the place, is on the treatment page. Whether a facial is possible during pregnancy is on pregnancy or breastfeeding.
HydraFacial and
hydradermabrasion
The names are used interchangeably, but it is not the same device. That is worth knowing as soon as you put prices side by side, and not only ours.
HydraFacial is a brand name and not a kind of treatment. There are other devices that work with suction and fluid; those are called hydradermabrasion. They work on the same principle and the result goes the same way, but the handpiece, the fluids and the tips differ per manufacturer.
We work with the HydraFacial Syndeo, the brand's current model. The tips are single-use and go per treatment; which one is used depends on your skin and on the goal. That is not a detail for the brochure: how coarse the spiral is decides how much gets loosened.
If you put prices from different clinics side by side, ask which device they have and which tips go with it. That is an ordinary question and you should simply get an answer. The answer decides whether you are comparing the same thing twice.
About this device
What a HydraFacial
costs with us
Three versions, all 60 minutes. The intake arrangement is set out in full, because that is the amount people do not see coming at a first appointment.
- Signature€ 170
- Deluxe€ 190
- Platinum€ 220
Which of the three suits you is discussed by the therapist at the intake, based on what your skin needs and what you want from the treatment.
All the clinic's ratesIs this your first visit
Then you book a treatment on advice. We reserve at most two hours for that: the intake, and then at least an hour to treat. If treating is safe at that moment and you want it, we do the HydraFacial in the same appointment.
What the intake costs
If you are treated in the same appointment, the intake fee is waived and you pay only for the treatment. If the treatment does not go ahead, the intake costs € 50. A separate intake without treatment lasts at most 30 minutes and always costs € 50.
Have you been here before
Then you book the HydraFacial directly in the calendar. Count on 60 minutes. If anything has changed since your last visit in your skin, your medication or your expectation, say so when you arrive. That sometimes changes the choice of tip or serum.
What helps and what we advise against
A HydraFacial works on what lies in and on your skin. For anything deeper there is a different treatment, and then we say so.
This works
- Dull skin and pores with something visibly in them, especially around your nose and chin
- Skin that has to look better within a day, for an occasion for instance
- Maintenance alongside a running programme for acne, pigmentation or skin improvement
- A first introduction when you do not yet know what your skin needs
We advise against this
- Scars and pigment that sit deeper in the skin. Microneedling or laser works on those, because they reach the layer where the problem is.
- Lasting change in the texture of your skin. A HydraFacial is maintenance; the effect lasts days to weeks and does not build up.
- Active, inflamed acne. Then it starts with the acne programme and not with a single treatment.
- Skin that has just been peeled, lasered or needled. We leave time in between; how much depends on what was done.
Alongside the other
facial treatments
People who know this name often do not know the others. This is what they do, what you notice afterwards and what they cost.
| Treatment | Where it differs | Recovery time | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| HydraFacial | Takes out what is in there and puts ingredients back in the same movement. You see it straight away. | There is usually no recovery time and you can carry on with your day after the appointment. | € 170 |
| OxyGeneo glow | Loosens the top layer with a gel rather than with suction, releasing oxygen in the skin. Gentler on your skin, less aimed at emptying pores. | None. | € 150 |
| Dermaplaning | Scrapes the dead layer and the fine hair off with a blade. Mostly for smooth skin under make-up; it does nothing about what is in the pore. | None. | € 150 |
| Medical peels | Works with acids and goes deeper. More effect on pigment and on texture, and so more reaction from your skin afterwards. | Two to five days dry and flaky, depending on the strength. | € 140 |
| Microneedling with the SkinPen | Makes small channels in the dermis with needles, so that your skin starts making collagen itself. For scars and texture, with a few days of redness. | One to three days red, like a strong sun flush. | € 180 |

The calendar is more up to date than this list: within opening hours not every hour has a therapist free.
A HydraFacial is done here by a skin therapist or an orthomolecular skin specialist. The skin therapists are listed in the Dutch Quality Register for Paramedics and are members of the Dutch Association of Skin Therapists.

Frequently asked questions
What does a HydraFacial cost in Rotterdam?
At Diba Clinics a HydraFacial costs € 170 for the Signature, € 190 for the Deluxe and € 220 for the Platinum. A treatment takes 60 minutes. If it is your first visit you book a treatment on advice: that starts with an intake, and the € 50 intake fee is waived as soon as we treat in the same appointment.
How long does a HydraFacial take?
60 minutes. For a first appointment we reserve at most two hours, because the intake comes with it and nothing should be rushed. That time is a maximum and not an obligation; often you are done sooner.
Is there recovery time after a HydraFacial?
No. Afterwards your skin is pink and feels tight, and that usually fades within an hour. Make-up is fine the same day. You can walk straight out after the appointment.
How often can you have a HydraFacial?
As a one-off, or monthly as maintenance. A starting series is usually three to six treatments. What makes sense in your case depends on your skin and on what you want from it; we discuss that at the intake.
Can I have a HydraFacial just before a wedding or party?
Yes, that is one of the reasons people choose this treatment: the effect is immediate and there is no day on which you have to stay in. If you have never had one, book it at least a week beforehand, so that you know how your skin reacts before it matters.
What is the difference from an ordinary facial?
In a classic facial, cleansing, extracting and caring happen one after another and by hand. With a HydraFacial it happens in one pass with one handpiece, with suction doing the work instead of fingers. That is more even across your face and your skin gets less irritated by it.
Does a HydraFacial help against acne?
With blocked pores and blackheads it can help, because that is exactly what is removed. With active, inflamed acne it is not the first step: then you start with the acne programme, where we first calm the skin. What suits you is decided by the therapist after the measurement.
Is a HydraFacial possible with sensitive skin?
Often yes. No acids are involved and the treatment stays at the surface, so your skin takes little from it. With active rosacea or inflamed skin we calm that first. Whether it is possible for you is decided by the measurement at the intake.
Is a HydraFacial covered by health insurance?
No. A HydraFacial is a maintenance treatment without medical necessity and so falls outside the system. If your concern does have a medical reason, with acne or a scar for instance, there is sometimes a route to reimbursement; that is explained on our page about insurance cover.
Where in Rotterdam are you?

Not sure whether this is the right treatment is
You do not have to know that before you come. Book a treatment on advice: we measure your skin, discuss what is going on and say which treatment fits. If a HydraFacial turns out not to be the best answer to your question, you hear that and we do something else that day, or nothing.
If you know what you are after but are unsure about the timing or the combination with something else, ask via WhatsApp. There is a therapist on the other end and not a form.

A HydraFacial in Rotterdam to book
We start with a measurement of your skin and then discuss which treatment fits. If that is a HydraFacial, it can often be done in the same appointment.
