Can I exercise
again tomorrow?
That is the question asked at home on the sofa, and not: how does my first week go. So it stands here as a schedule: per treatment, from when everything is allowed again, with the reason attached.
Most restrictions last a day or less. Except for one, and it stands out in every column.
What you were told in the clinic. These periods are guidelines; how quickly your skin recovers depends on the setting chosen and on how you respond to it.
If in doubt, call. That is always cheaper than waiting.

- A day or less
- Up to a week
- Longer than a week
When you should call
Usually nothing is wrong. But with these signs you call us, appointment or not: we would rather hear this too early than too late.
010-2038423HydraFacial and facial treatment
- If the redness does not lessen after a day
Medical peel
- With blisters, or with pain that worsens rather than eases
- If after a week nothing has come away and the skin stays tight
Microneedling
- With swelling that increases after two days
- With spots that turn yellow or start weeping
- With fever, however mild
Laser hair removal
- With blisters or scabs; those do not belong with a properly set treatment
- If the redness is not gone after two days
- If you notice your skin getting darker in the treated spot
Pigment programme
- With new spots in places that were not treated
- If you have unexpectedly been in full sun after all
What you will notice in the first hours.
With every treatment comes something you see or feel at home. Anyone who knows that beforehand does not get a fright, and does not call about something that belongs.
HydraFacial and facial treatment
Your skin feels clean and can be slightly pink. In most people that is gone within an hour.
The rule that countsThis is the treatment with the shortest aftercare on the list. You can walk straight out with it.
Medical peel
A tight, warm feeling and a red flush. The peeling usually only starts after two to three days.
The rule that countsDo not pull anything off. What comes away, let it come away. Picking at it is the fastest way to be left with a mark.
Microneedling
Red and warm, like a strong sun flush. That settles within one to three days. Afterwards the skin can feel dry for a few days.
The rule that countsFor the first twenty-four hours the channels are still open. Anything you put on then goes deeper than you want, so stick to what you were given.
Laser hair removal
Red bumps around the follicles, as though you have goose bumps. Usually gone within a day. After one to three weeks the treated hairs fall out; that looks like growth but it is not.
The rule that countsThere is no need to stop shaving in between: shaving is allowed and in fact required. What is not allowed is plucking, waxing or tweezing, because that removes the root the next session has to hit.
Pigment programme
Depending on what was done: redness, spots that darken and later come away, or peeling.
The rule that countsHere sun protection is not advice but part of the treatment. Without it the pigment comes back, even after a programme that otherwise went perfectly.
Rather call once
too often.
This schedule is a guideline and not a prescription. If your skin differs from what is written here, that is a reason to get in touch and not to wait until the next appointment. Attaching a photo helps us judge whether it can wait.
